About Palmetto Letter & Sign

Palmetto Letter & Sign was established in February of 2020 by Dean Baldwin. Dean grew up here locally in Lexington and has lived here all his life. He started working in the sign industry when he was 18 years old and has been doing it for 29 years now. Dean started his career in the sign industry with Long Life Lighting and Sign in Greenville, SC doing installations and service work. After a short stent with Long Life Lighting and Sign he went to work for Acme Wiley Corporation (which changed to ICON and now is known as Stratus). Starting on the floor there he worked his way up to working in the sheet metal department, then moving to programing the routers, to eventually becoming production manager of the plant. Following a 25-year career with Stratus he moved to the Fitts Company for about a year and a half where he was brought on to implement a channel letter department from the ground up. Dean's 29-year adventure in the sign industry has finally led to the full time opening of Palmetto Letter & Sign in October of 2024. Dean now owns and operates his own sign company Palmetto Letter & Sign with his son Brantley Baldwin.
